Details:

The opening of the exhibition "Caméra silex patates germées" (camera obscura sprouted potatoes) will take place on 19 April 2019 at Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain, from 19:00 - 21:00.

"No Name", a student group at Haute École des Arts du Rhin (HEAR), in Strasbourg, participating in the FAIRE-MONDES research unit, is behind this exhibition. These students are interested in the issues of globalisation and the ecology of stories, moving between politics and poetics. It is the questions relating to "evolution" in the broad sense that form the core of their investigations during this academic year.

The HEAR offers five-year courses in disciplines ranging from design to ceramics, scenography, illustration and contemporary art. Formed within it, the group "No Name" is made up of about twenty students (from the second to the fifth year) supervised by two main teachers and many speakers. The group proposes an artistic approach centred on the most current social issues. Working each year on a specific theme, this year they will present "evolution" in the form of a series of workshops, conferences and trips, culminating in the exhibition at Casino Luxembourg.

The exhibition derives its name from the evolution of the name for "potato", following its arrival in Europe, and the use of the camera obscura as both a viewing machine and a device for projecting images.

The exhibition will run from 20 April to 19 May 2019.
