Details: On Monday 6 June 2016, from 10:00 - 14:00, the Banque de Luxembourg (14 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg) will host a presentation by Pecán Argentina.
Pecán Argentina is a growing agribusiness initiated in 2013, built on the pillars of sustainability, market knowledge and above all its committed leadership. Together with its investors, its aim is to become the world market leader achieving a 2% global share, planting an additional 350,000 trees within the next four years.
With over 12,000 trees already planted, nearly 200 hectares under irrigation and more than 15.000 saplings growing in their own greenhouses, they are one of the largest pecan nut plantations in South America. The current political change in Argentina sets the stage for the country to become the world’s leading food supplier. Current partners who have joined the family buisiness are family offices and institutional investors from Argentina, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Canada and the USA.
The pecan nut, with its delicate flavours, nonsaturated fatty acids and preventative health benefits has become indispensable to high nutrient diets. Evidence proves that demand is far exceeding supply leading to maximum sales at a high price in the world‘s main consumer markets, contributing to long-term economic returns. Their investors receive preferential shares. Shareholders partly own not only the trees but they also become co-owners of Pecán Argentina‘s land, a secure and tangible asset. Aside from the expertise of setting up and running agroindustrial businesses, the management team also has gathered years of global know-how in the areas of branding, sales and distribution of agricultural produce. Pecan Argentina foresees the building of its own drying, cracking and packaging plants as well as storage facilites and the set-up of sales offices in the world’s key markets.
The recent change of government and political paradigm in Argentina makes the country one of the leading destinations for the international business community. Three years ago they started to build their Pecan-nut plantation, which has reached the considerable size of 27,000 Pecan trees and plants and 200 planted hectares so far. Their goal for the coming four years remains unchanged: to become the world market leader in Pecan production. To achieve this they continue to seek interested partners. In times of dramatic, geopolitical transformations, a conservative, long-term investment in land and in the sustainable production of healthy foods is certainly recommendable.
