Details: The Musée Dräi Eechelen (M3E) will be receiving historian Marc Schoellen this Wednesday 23 March 2016 for an exploration of Luxembourg's changing landscapes.
Through a conference, the graduate of architecture of historic gardens will take visitors on a tour of the country's 'Parks, Gardens and Picturesque Walks: The Discovery of the Landscape Style of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in the First Half of the Nineteenth Century'. Compared to its neighbouring countries, Luxembourg developed its gardens and private parks relatively late, with gazebos, bandstands and altars emerging in the early nineteenth century in areas such as Bellevue in Limperstberg, Septfontaines/Luxembourg, Heisdorf, Schoenfels and Marienthal. The conference will take place in French.
