Details: After being launched three months ago, the online platform Art Work Circle will be holding the opening of its first exhibition at House 17 in Luxembourg City on Wednesday 23 March 2016.

The concept behind Art Work Circle is to create greater visibility for Luxembourg's artists, and in so doing establish a relationship between creator and buyer. This new exhibition 'House Mix', so called due to the combination of a variety of art works, will reveal the style and approach of the five individual artists selected. Pieces will range from photographic portraits of strangers, psychedelic paintings evoking an acid trip, half-human half-animal creatures and new takes on Luxembourg landscapes.

Artists presented include Rwandan-born Remera, whose photography of strangers going about their daily lives together form a road map of his travels; Frank Jons, whose Matisse, Van Gogh, Debré, Alechinsky, Rothko and Soulages inspired acrylic paintings saw him earn the Pierre Werner prize in 2008; Luxembourg's Françoise Ley, who has evoked her artistic talents through painting and drawing ever since the lates 70s; English artist Ben Carter, who has illustrated for Diesel Jeans, The Guardian and New Scientist and who recently launched a new line of sculptural work; and Mik Muhlen of Luxembourg, who evokes mysticism, the occult, modern subcultures, digital art, typographie, street art and culture in his diverse pieces.

The exhibition will be held from 24 March to 15 May 2016.
