Director of Luxembourg music club venue, den Atelier, Laurent Loschetter, presented the initial line-up for Luxembourg’s premier annual music festival, Rock-A-Field (RAF), yesterday, 26 November 2014.
The tenth edition of RAF will take place at the Herschesfeld in Roeser, just to the south of the Grand-Duchy’s capital, from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 July, and will feature British rock band Muse headlining, on their return to Luxembourg.
Another nine acts were announced and will showcase some of the best musical talent from Europe and beyond, with most notably German DJ Boys Noize, Chicago rock band, Rise Against, indie band Alt-J and Eagles of Death Metal, Josh Homme’s new band. The American musician was at RAF in 2009 with Queens of the Stone Age.
Moreover, German band Kraftklub and German hip-hop group Kontra K, as well as Brussels indie group BRNS, French artist Tallisco and local band Charlotte complete the first ten artists announced by the organisers.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday) at 11:00 and a three-day festival pass costs €110 with the three-day pass plus camping combo costing €125. Tickets will be available for purchase online at the Atelier’s website, as well as at a number of locations in Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany and France.
Although the festival dates have been pushed back by one week, the Early Fox tickets, which were already sold, remain valid for the new dates.
The upcoming edition will also feature some new surprises, such as the brand-new food village and leisure grounds, just outside the festival site, where there will be quality food served and a chill-out area for a true all-around festival experience. Another novelty will be a completely tent-covered second stage to provide shelter from the rain or shade from the sun.
2015 is an equally important year for den Atelier, as it is not only RAF’s tenth edition, but the venue will be celebrating its twentieth anniversary. It will be the last RAF, Loschetter is solely in charge of, as the venue will be administered by a four-person management team going forward, of which he will remain a part of.
