Details: The Department of the Environment at the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure has announced two public information sessions on risks and prevention measures concernning flooding.
- Wednesday, 14 January 2015 at 19:00 at the Sports Centre "Gewännchen" Rue des Champs in Remich
- Wednesday, 21 January 2015 at 18:00 at the Arts Centre plural Ed Juncker (CAPe), at 1 place Marie-Adelaide, Ettelbrück.
As part of these meetings, Minister Carole Dieschbourg will present the "draft flood risk management plan." This instrument is designed to reduce the potential negative consequences of flooding for people, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activity. It focuses on prevention, protection and preparedness for floods.
Participants will be informed of the assessment of flood risks on the mapping of flood risk, as well as reduction strategies of these risks and the measures put in place to inform and bring relief to the public when floods occur.
The management plan can be viewed online at the website of the Administration of Water Management (www.waasser.lu, under the Guidelines tab - Flood Directive) and through the portal of the environment (www.emwelt.lu)
