Details: On Saturday 24 January from 15:00 - 16:00, a short commemorative ceremony will be held at the Winston Churchill Memorial Statue on Place Winston Churchill in Luxembourg-ville on the occasion of Sir Winston Churchill's death 50 years ago.

The statue of Sir Winston Churchill was erected by the founders of the British Luxembourg Society (BLS) in 1947.

The event is hosted by the British Luxembourg Society and Luxembourg Mayor Lydie Polfer, a representative of the British Embassy, some members of the "Anciens Combattants du Luxembourg" and the Chairman and council members of the BLS.

The commemorative event will take the form of speeches and the laying of wreaths, with a minute's silence.
