Details: The Luxembourg Red Cross and the Thierry Van Wervecke Foundation are organising the second edition of charity concert “D’Kees op an d’Klacken eraus!” (first organised in 2011) at Rockhal on Saturday 13 December, in benefit of the newly-established Get a Life/Alive Fund, which will help socially deprived young people reintegrate into society.
Doors will open at 20:00, the concert will begin at 20:30, and will feature music from Luxembourg musicians from all generations from the 1960s to 1990s. The selection of songs will trace the history of the Luxembourg rock scene, including Luke Haas, one of its pioneers and activists, Nazz Nazz, Serge Tonner and the younger generation’s bands, who have recently made the mark on the national and international scene.
They will be accompanied by the Chicago Family Orchestra, composed of Al Lenners, Rom Christnach, Remo Cavallini, Ady Zeimet, Georges Urwald and Al Ginter.
The choice of music is a tribute to late Luxembourg musician, Thierry van Wervecke, who died in 2009, and to the centenary of the Luxembourg Red Cross, which similarly to the Foundation, help young people in need. Both entities are combining to create the Fund.
The special fund will aim to help young people in need, achieve a degree of autonomy, by supporting them and helping them through difficult times at the start of their adult lives.
Luc Biver and Dan Spogen will moderate the concert.
