Details: On the occasion of the sixth “Private Art Kirchberg” event, which will take place on Sunday 28 September 2014, eleven institutions based in Kirchberg will invite the public to discover, or re-discover, their art collections; as well as their private collections, some institutions will also host temporary exhibitions in their buildings.

Both the curious and genuine art lovers will thus have the opportunity to discover not just paintings, photographic images and works on paper, but also videos and sculptures as well as examples of art in architecture which are not normally accessible to the public.

A resounding success in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012, this ‘open house’ day is a unique occasion to discover not just the collections of the participating institutions, but also their philosophy and commitment to art. It is about revealing hidden treasures, and encouraging people to take a stroll and get a different view of a neighbourhood that is usually known as a business or shopping district.

Throughout the day, from 11:00 to 19:00, shuttles will link the different sites.

Mudam’s favourites (“Coups de coeur”): For 2014, “Private Art Kirchberg” welcomes Mudam, the Luxembourg Museum of Contemporary Art as its special guest for the second consecutive time. Mudam aims to embrace all art disciplines and be open to all. Its collection and programme of events reflect current creative trends and provide a platform for the emergence of new artistic practices at national and international level.

Just like the last time, Enrico Lunghi, Mudam’s director, has selected a favourite piece of art from each participating institution. These “coups de coeur” will be highlighted and on display on 28 September. Entry to the museum will be free on this date.
