Details: Developing digital skills is among the objectives of the government to stimulate the growth of the digital economy, innovation and employment; in this context, the Department of Media and Communications and the Department of State are organising together with The Impactory Luxembourg, a workshop entitled "Rails Girls" in Luxembourg on 16 and 17 May 2014.
This event offers a free introduction to web programming and is aimed at women of all ages. No programming experience is required.
The "Rails Girls" initiative was born in Finland in 2010 and has been replicated in over 100 cities worldwide. Led by local volunteer coaches, these workshops offer a free introduction to computer programming aimed at a female audience.
The event is organised over two days, a welcome evening and installation of laptops on Friday, 16 May 2014, from 18:00 - 20:30, and on Saturday 17 May 2014 (all day) for free daytime workshops.
Rails Girls Luxembourg will be held mainly in English and French. Participants should bring their personal computers..
