Details: STEP Benelux has announced a Lunch & Learn meeting to be held at Cercle Munster in Luxembourg-Grund on Thursday 13 February 2014 from 12:00.
The event will include a presentation by James O’Neal, Tax Principal at AMMC Law, entitled “Luxembourg Tax Planning in the New ‘BEPS’ (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) World”. The presentation will focus on the Impact of Recent Trends in OECD, G20, and EU Anti-Tax Avoidance Initiatives on Luxembourg Tax Planning.
JAMES O’NEAL has a unique expertise as an American tax lawyer with over 11 years of international tax experience in Luxembourg and 14 years total. James has advised Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and institutional investors on a broad range of Luxembourg tax planning solutions including IP management, cross-border financing, M&A, and many restructuring projects. Prior to joining AMMC, James was a Director of International Tax at a Big Four in Luxembourg. James has multiple published articles on Luxembourg tax aspects, and notably he was the chief author of IBFD’s Luxembourg Survey, Corporate Tax Section, from 2005 to 2013. James is a member of the Florida Bar and the ABA’s Tax Section. He also serves as Treasurer of the American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg and is a member of both its Executive and Tax Committees. He holds the following degrees: LL.M. in Taxation, New York University, Law School (1999); J.D. with Honors, University of Florida, College of Law (1997); and B.A. University of Florida (1993).
