Details: Every year Sacred Heart University organises a conference cycle to cover important social and business subjects for society at large and Luxembourg in particular.
The conferences are addressed to a general public, very international by the nature of the composition of Luxembourg society. This year’s cycle is organised in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce under theme: "Europe (Luxembourg) in a globalized world: Have the trumps been played?"
Conference 1 on 20 January 2014: Is HR a source of Competitive Advantage?
"Organisations face the dilemma of becoming more effective without increasing costs. Typical responses in recent years have included downsizing, reengineering, total quality and the more extensive use of information technology. Largely overlooked are tactics that would draw deeper from the potential of human resources and upgrade the role they can play in meeting competitive demands." Alex Stajkovic (Stanford University) & Fred Luthans (President of the Academy of Management), in 1998.
