Details: For the first time in its unique story of success, Cirque du Soleil comes to Luxembourg.
The internationally celebrated production Quidam is to be presented at the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette from 11 to 15 June 2014.
Quidam is going to demonstrate its special magic made of spectacular acrobatics, fantasy costumes and authentic live music. This show is somehow a journey of discovery into your own power of imagination. Its wide mix of different characters and opulent look drag the spectators into a fantastic dream world.
Quidam is a fantastic production which focusses on the human imagination and has thrilled millions of spectators on five different continents since 1996. Cirque du Soleil has perfectly adapted its initial big top show with 52 world-class acrobats, actors, musicians and singers for larger arenas. As shown by the preceding shows Alegría and Saltimbanco, these programs are particularly charming in a different atmosphere.

About the show
In contrast to other Cirque du Soleil shows, Quidam is not about fairy-tale figures, but just about ordinary people, their worries and desires. Young Zoé is bored. Her parents ignore her and her life seems to have lost all meaning. She escapes this void by entering a dream world where she meets characters who encourage and inspire her.
Quidam, a nameless passer-by. A solitary figure on a street corner. A person disappearing in the crowd. An individual in the crowd, in the silent majority. Someone who revolts, who sings and dreams. That is Quidam, who has a voice in this show, as well as room for dreams and sincere relationships, enabling people to step out of their anonymity.
The show focusses on a dozen of world-class acrobatics performances which only Cirque du Soleil is able to present. Accompanied by a spotlight symphony and its own soundtrack, the unique and touching world of Quidam arises in the midst of a dreamlike setting.
Performances such as “Aerial Contortion in Silk” or the “Cloud Swing”, where the performer falls into the depths and shoots up again, are simply breath-taking. The “Skipping Ropes” are a choreographic masterpiece with their never-ending staccato of solo and tandem jumps. “Banquine” is an award-winning act showcasing the agility of the human body under the most extreme conditions. Quidam truly is an amazing show.
Cirque du Soleil's self-imposed claim is to touch people, to inspire their power of imagination and to defy their senses. The unusual blend of acrobatics, music, dance and theatre showcased by Quidam in an arena format certainly answers this claim.
