Details: The Luxembourg School of Finance of the University of Luxembourg will host the European Conference of the Financial Management Association International (FMA) on 12-14 June, at the Abbaye de Neumunster in Luxembourg-Grund.

The annual meeting is one of the most important academic events in the international finance calendar. It draws together more than 250 of the world’s leading financial experts and provides them with the opportunity to actively engage with each other on how to improve the economic environment.

The conference is being supported by the European Investment Bank and will bring together academics and practitioners with interests in financial decision-making. The event will provide a forum for presenting new research and discussing current issues in financial management and related topics both from a theoretical and an empirical perspective. The conference begins with the Doctoral Student Consortium on Wednesday 12 June. Presentations of research papers, panel discussions, plenary and keynote talks, and tutorials will begin on Thursday June 13 and end on Friday 14 June.

The conference is open to the public and individuals can register in advance or on site at the event at the special local rate of €300.

The event will be co-Chaired Professor Christian Wolff, Director of the Luxembourg School of Finance, and by Professor Theo Vermaelen from the French business school, INSEAD. Professor Wolff said: “The FMA is one of the large, prestigious associations of Finance academics in North America. We are very happy to host this meeting. It is a great opportunity to help place Finance research in Luxembourg on the map.”

The Luxembourg School of Finance is closely tied to the Luxembourg Financial Centre, with on-going partnerships in research, internships and student placement, and events of academic and professional interest.
