Details: The Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra and the New York Voices will perform together on stage in Luxembourg as part of the latter's 25th anniversary tour, on Monday 6 May at 20:00 at the Conservatoire de la ville de Luxembourg.
Under the Printemps Musical festival, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office is organising a concert with jazz vocalists of New York Voices accompanies by musicians from the Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra. Both groups will be on stage together in their birthday concert tour, an absolute highlight for lovers of fine and elegant jazz.
The famous vocal ensemble New York Voices are coming to Luxembourg under the banner of their 25th anniversary tour! Formed in 1987, the group consists of Darmon Meader, Kim Nazarian, Peter Eldridge and Lauren Kinhan. Winning grammy awards and being praised for over twenty-five years, the four American singers are known for their vocal harmonies, their rich multi-genre influences and lush arrangements.
Their first album was released in 1989 on the prestigious label GPR Records in Los Angeles and in 1996 they won a grammy award for their collaboration with the Count Basie Orchestra. In the tradition of legendary vocal groups such as Singers Unlimited, Manhattan Transfer and Take 6, New York Voices have reached a level of perfection absolutely amazing in terms of sharpness, dynamics, nuances and harmonic richness.
The New York Voices have traveled the world with their elegant music, attractive listeners by their impeccable vocal technique and superb arrangements. They had the pleasure to perform with various prestigious jazz artists, including Ray Brown, Bobby McFerrin, Nancy Wilson, Count Basie Orchestra, George Benson, Jon Hendricks, Annie Ross, the Boston Pops, the Metropole Orchestra, Ivan Lins Paquito D'Rivera and many others.
In 2013, the Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
