The British-Luxembourg Society is holding its annual Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Lecture virtually on Tuesday 18 May 2021 at 17:45.

This year, Lord Patten of Barnes will speak on "China and the New Global Balance". Lord Patten is a British politician who has been Chancellor of the University of Oxford since 2003. He also served as European Commissioner for External Affairs from 1999 to 2004, Chairman of the United Kingdom's Conservative Party from 1990 to 1992 and the last Governor of Hong Kong from 1992 to 1997.

Louise Benjamin-Schilling, President of the British-Luxembourg Society, and Professor Catherine Léglu, on behalf of the Bridge Forum Dialogue, accompanied by a representative of the British Embassy in Luxembourg, will introduce the lecture. 

Sir Nicholas Forwood QC, Patron of the British Luxembourg Society, and David Clark, Chairman of the Oxford University Society of Luxembourg, will facilitate this online event.

The event is being supported by the Bridge Forum Dialogue, the British Embassy in Luxembourg, the Oxford University Society of Luxembourg and the Fondation Nationale de la Résistance.
