Luxembourg's Chamber of Commerce has announced that its JobSwitch platform to connect businesses with needed manpower stopped operating today.

Launched on 24 March 2020, the JobSwitch platform, the objective of which was to facilitate and accelerate the use of additional available labour during the COVID-19 health crisis, ceased its activities on Thursday 30 April 2020.

During this period of just over a month, the platform proved successful with more than 1,460 applications registered and a peak of 201 requests in a single day.

Designed to provide a rapid and punctual response to an urgent demand from certain sectors in immediate need of manpower, JobSwitch managed to create 537 matches and thus facilitated the connection between unemployed, partial unemployed and self-employed workers with companies urgently looking for available workers.

This platform was designed from the start as a short-term project. According to the Chamber of Commerce, the gradual recovery and good management of companies in the face of this crisis has led JobSwitch to cease its activities today.
