The number of jobseekers registered with the ADEM employment agency in Luxembourg has increased by 1.8% over one year.
As of 31 October 2019, the number of available jobseekers registered with the ADEM was 15,036. Over one year, this represents an increase of 263 individuals, or 1.8%. On the other hand, the number of available non-resident jobseekers registered with the ADEM was 2,378 at the end of October 2019, a decrease of 8.5% compared to October 2018.
Over the course of October 2019, the ADEM opened 3,038 new applications from resident jobseekers, an increase of 11% compared to the previous year. In addition, the agency opened 550 new applications from non-resident jobseekers, which represents an increase of 39.9% over one year.
In addition, the total number of beneficiaries of employment benefits in Luxembourg was 4,320 at the end of last month. Over one year, this represents an increase of 39 individuals, or 0.9%.
During the month of October 2019, employers reported 3,244 vacancies to ADEM, which equated to 570 or 14.9% more posts than in October 2018.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC remained stable at 5.3%.
