As of 1 August 2018, a new salary indexation of +2.5% will be introduced.

According to the provisional result published by STATEC, the annual inflation rate of the national consumer price index (CPI) was 1.5% for the month of July. With this result, the semi-annual average of the index linked to the July 1.1.1948 base exceeds the threshold of 852.63 points, triggering a new indexation.

The new application rating of the sliding salary scale of 814.40 points (formerly 794.54 points) comes into effect on 1 August 2018, resulting in a 2.5% increase in wages, salaries and pensions.

The final and detailed results of the July National Consumer Price Index will be released on 8 August 2018, following the monthly meeting of the Index Commission. The provisions governing the system of the sliding scale of wages are defined in Article 3 of the amended law of 25 March 2015 establishing the salary system and the conditions and procedures for the advancement of public servants.
