The University of Luxembourg has announced that it is organising a "Day of Contemporary History in the Greater Region" on Friday 25 April 2025 from 09:00 - 17:45 at the Maison du Savoir in its Belval campus in Esch-Belval.
The first Day of Contemporary History in the Greater Region is set to become a vibrant meeting point for persons working of passionate about contemporary history and the Greater region. With a focus on interdisciplinary and cross-border perspectives, the event invites scholars to rethink the recent past beyond national and academic boundaries. It promises lively discussions, new collaborations, and fresh insights into the forces shaping our world today.
Organised by the Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) and the Center for Border Studies (UniGR-CBS), the event is actively supported by researchers from the Université de Lorraine, Université de Liège, Universität Trier and Universität des Saarlandes — a true cross-border initiative.
