On Thursday 23 January 2025, LUNEX University of Applied Sciences, based in Differdange, announced the unveiling of a special video to commemorate its ten-year anniversary.
As explained by LUNEX, since its foundation in 2015 it has grown into an internationally recognised hub for health, sport science and management education, through high-quality education and impactful research. The anniversary video is expected to showcase its key achievements, as well as highlighting its mission to both educate future leaders and to perform research in health and sports.
“Celebrating our tenth anniversary is a moment of pride for us,” said Prof. Dr Andreas Mierau, LUNEX Academic Director. “Over the years, we have focused on academic excellence, initiated research projects and established partnerships with local and international stakeholders. LUNEX is, today, still a very young institution but it is much more mature with a clear strategic plan to become a hub in Europe for sports science, health and management.”
Over the past ten years, LUNEX has marked many milestones, including the first graduation ceremony in 2019, attended by Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke
of Luxembourg. The most recent addition to its Bachelor programmes was in 2023, with the launch of the Bachelors in Nutrition, Fitness and Health, and in Corporate Health Management and Well-Being.
LUNEX pointed out that its 1,000 students and 60 staff members come from more than 75 countries worldwide. It has over 950 graduates and more than 100 partnerships with academic, clinical, public and private institutions, with eighteen ongoing research projects.
The anniversary video is described as a heartfelt tribute to the institutions’ journey, encapsulating key moments, milestones and figures. It is available to watch on YouTube.
Throughout 2025, LUNEX will launch a series of testimonial videos from key players who have shaped its history. These videos will provide insights into the institution's journey and the impact it has had over the past decade.
