On Thursday 24 October 2024, Luxembourg's Minister for Research and Higher Education, Stéphanie Obertin, and representatives of the Association of Luxembourg Student Unions (ACEL), signed a declaration of intent aimed at adapting the State financial aid system for higher education.

As reported by the Ministry of Higher Education and ACEL, these adaptations will result in financial aid for higher education focusing more on student progress, without impacting the four current grants: the basic grant, the mobility grant, the social grant and the family grant.

The measures contained in the declaration of intent include certain financial improvements, aimed at enabling students in Luxembourg and abroad to better adapt to recent socio-economic developments and to devote themselves fully to their studies.
