Sacred Heart University Luxembourg (SHULU) has announced significant changes to its governance to drive its renewed strategic directions.

Established in the Grand Duchy 30 years ago and located in the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Kirchberg, the Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT) at SHULU is the Luxembourg branch of the Fairfield-based (Connecticut, US) WCBT main campus. Following past success, the WCBT’s Luxembourg campus has been entrusted with an even more prominent role in the university’s overall strategy.

To face the increased complexity, rapidity of change and the challenges businesses are facing, WCBT Luxembourg has initiated a strategic reflection process to adapt existing and develop new higher education programmes. The mission is to enable people, as well as institutions, to build and cross bridges between business and technology, theory and practice, between cultures, generations, disciplines, gender and to build and cross bridges between the present and the future.

Dean Martha J. Crawford, a former Harvard faculty and senior executive in France and the US, has entrusted the new chair of SHULU’s Board of Regents, Raymond Schadeck, with the task to form a new Board of Regents reflecting the new strategic directions.

“By leveraging our US capabilities and Luxembourg’s international and innovative spirit, WCBT Luxembourg will substantially contribute to the building of the bridges required to assure Luxembourg’s future successful developments. I strongly believe that our new Board of Regents in Luxembourg, under the chairmanship of Raymond Schadeck, together with our renewed management team will be the key pillars to assure a successful development and deployment of our strategy in Luxembourg”, commented Dean Martha J. Crawford.

The new Board of Regents of SHULU is composed as follows:
- Charles-Louis Ackermann
- Julie Becker
- Aïssata Coulibaly
- Melanie Delannoy
- Martin Dobbins
- Shiva Dustdar
- Jean Ehret
- Jacques Lanners
- Raymond Schadeck (chairman)
- Katia Scheidecker
- Karin Schintgen
- Rolf Tarrach
- Marc Wagener

Raymond Schadeck, new chairman of the Board, stated: “Education provides freedom and choice and will be key to define what the world of tomorrow will look like. And I take it as my responsibility to guess, but also influence, among others via education, what the world of tomorrow might look like. Along the lines of the famous Nelson Mandela quote: 'Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world', which with the ever increasing pace of change and complexity is today crucial at any stage of our life”.
