The University of Luxembourg has announced a special online edition of its popular "Feed Your Brain Now" debate series, taking place on Tuesday 3 November 2020 from 12:30 to 13:30.
As the United States presidential election draws ever nearer, students from the University of Luxembourg and the Miami University Dolibois European Center (MUDEC), based in Differdange, will debate the topic "Donald or Joe?".
Every four years, a presidential election takes place in the US. On 3 November 2020, the American electorate will decide between President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden.
The circle debate strategy employed in Feed Your Brain Now emphasises listening and reacting to others' views and opinions. As such, University of Luxembourg and MUDEC students will battle out the stakes of this year's US presidential elections.
Special guests at this debate include Natalie Bachiri, Chair of Democrats Abroad Luxembourg, James O’Neal, Chair of Republicans Overseas Luxembourg, and Guy de Muyser, Hon. Marshal of the Court of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Mara Kroth, a student at the University of Luxembourg, will moderate the discussion.
The event will take place exclusively online via Webex. Those wishing to attend should send an email to François Carbon at francois.carbon@uni.lu by Monday 2 November 2020 at the latest. Registration is mandatory and a link for the Webex will be sent out on the morning of the event.
