The EURAXESS roadshow came to the University of Luxembourg's Belval Campus today, providing its master's students and PhD candidates with the opportunity to learn more on how to launch an international career.
The roadshow was brought to the Campus by the University of Luxembourg, as part of the pan-European partner university tour of the European Commission's EURAXESS initiative. Now in its second year, the roadshow will have spanned 24 cities in 16 European countries in mid-November.
During its Luxembourg stop-off, the EURAXESS bus advised young researchers on how to apply for jobs throughout Europe, whilst the Mason du Savoir hosted a series of presentations and roundtables of subjects such as career opportunities in the Luxembourg industrial and public research sectors. Equally, what a researcher needs and actual job offers available were outlined in afternoon workshop sessions.
"As an international, practically-oriented university, our mission is similar to that of EURAXESS," explained Barbara Daniel, International Relations Sepcialist of the EURAXESS Service Centre Luxembourg, who stated that the University of Luxembourg held several good reasons for hosting the EURAXESS event in the Grand Duchy. "Cooperation such as this helps us reach our goal of continue excellence in research which will help drive the new, innovative Luxembourg".
