Luxair has reported that it diverted one of its recent flights to Geneva, Switzerland as "a precautionary measure".
The airline clarified that flight LG6992, operated on Monday 31 March 2025, from Milan to Luxembourg was diverted as a precautionary measure, in accordance with Luxair's internal procedures and in compliance with its safety standards.
Luxair assured that there was no engine problem, but rather an oil pressure issue that had been identified. Contrary to some media reports, there was "no risk or danger at any time" to the crew or passengers, the airline said in its statement, issued on the evening of Wednesday 2 April 2025.
The airline added that its team "immediately looked after the passengers on site and ensured they were taken care of". Firefighters were present, as this is part of the standard procedure in the event of an unscheduled landing, the statement continued.
Luxair also stated that all passengers were able to reach their final destination that same day; they were "promptly rebooked on alternative flights to arrive as planned". The aircraft concerned has also returned to Luxembourg "without any issues".
Luxair assured that it "makes every effort to avoid disruptions", but also that safety "remains our top priority". The airline noted that sometimes unforeseen events may affect operations, "but Luxair is always committed to ensuring our passengers are looked after in the best possible way".
