The Ministry of the Economy yesterday reported that in order to screen travellers, both collective and private accommodation institutions must be able to verify the identity of the people they host through records for each travelling party.
Based on the Grand Ducal Regulation of 5 August 2015, each group will have to fill out records for the host structure, with the exception of those accompanying the main traveller. This information will exist in either electronic or printed form, with the information transmitted to the Grand Ducal Police and partly to STATEC, reportedly for statistical purposes.
The Grand Ducal regulation of 5 August 2015 has simplified the administrative procedures related to hosting these records, meaning that now only the contact details of the main traveller must be provided and the number of accompanying individuals.
In this way, the Regulation removes the requirement to indicate the contact details of the latter; removes the record of 'groups'; and simplifies the indication of purpose of trip, such as business, congress, leisure or other, and types of campers, meaning residential or otherwise.
Establishments will be given until 10 February 2016 in which to comply with these new provisions.
