Luxair has registered its millionth passenger today to London-City, one of its flagship destinations which has experienced a significant growth in recent years.

To appropriately celebrate this important milestone, Luxair Luxembourg Airlines wishes to involve a wider audience, as well in Luxembourg and the Greater Region as in London. On this side of the Channel, the airline has organised a series of street marketing events featuring a London cab, along with a contest allowing participants to win several airline tickets for two people to the destination. The events start on Monday 29 June In Luxembourg cities and will continue on 1 July in Trier and 4 July in Thionville.

London-City, located just 10 km from the centre of the British capital, has been a Luxair Luxembourg Airlines destination since 2003. Perfectly connected to all parts of London via the underground (DLR, Docklands Light Railway), by bus or taxi, known for its short distances and its efficiency, London City Airport is the quintessential city airport. The London City route, which links both cities in just over two hours, quickly found its public. The destination’s success has enabled Luxair to gradually move three flights a day at the opening of the route to seven daily round trips on weekdays as from the 2015 summer season.

Aimed primarily at launch at the business travellers, the destination has also quickly seduced leisure customers. In October 2010, Luxair recorded its 400,000th passenger on this route.

Flights to London-City are operated with Bombardier Q400 aircraft, latest-generation twin-turboprops particularly well adapted to the specifications of this urban airport. The round trip is offered from €99, all taxes included.
