Following Friday's terrorist attack at Sousse in Tunisia, LuxairTours has contacted all customers holidaying in the area and was able to ensure that none of them were affected by the attack.
As reported yesterday, Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) did repatriate two LuxairTours customers who had been traumatised by the attack which took place on a beach near the hotel where they were staying. One of them was hospitalised upon return to Luxembourg.
LuxairGroup has conveyed its condolences to the families and relatives of victims of the attack. Their thoughts also go to the Tunisian people and its local partners, severely affected by this attack.
Until the security situation in the region around Enfidha Airport has been clarified, Luxair has decided to suspend all LuxairTours flights to this airport until 12 July 2015 inclusive, and has offered to all its customers currently staying at hotels in the regions of Sousse, Monastir and Hammamet to return on its flights from today, Sunday, 28 June. LuxairTours's customers located in Djerba and wishing to bring forward their return may do so today on its flight LG206.
For all LuxairTours customers booking a holiday in Tunisia this summer (travel completed on or before 15 September) and wish not to go, Luxair has offered a free cancellation until 12 July. For customers who wish to change their existing reservation to another destination in the LuxairTours 2015 catalogues, a discount of €150 per booking will be given. LuxairTours is to contact all such customers in the coming days.
Luxair has stated that it is in contact with relevant Tunisian and Luxembourg authorities to assess the security situation on the ground and will decide by mid-July for a possible resumption of flights to Enfidha.
For customers interested in holidays to other destinations, Luxair will also develop additional capacity, especially to the Canaries and mainland Spain.
