lux-Airport has announced that the Kiss & Fly car-park in front of the airport is to be expanded, more than doubling in size, and has also provided an update regarding the new restaurants and shops.
Works on Kiss & Fly Car-Park
During the month of April, major construction works will start on the Kiss & Fly car-park in front of the terminal. Due to the fast growth of the airport, the capacity of this parking had become too small. The aim of these works is to increase the capacity of this parking from 153 spaces to 345 spaces. At the same time the bypass road leading to the road in front of the terminal will be eliminated. All traffic will be guided onto the Kiss & Fly Parking in the future, to drop off or to pick up passengers. This will end the situation of people parking illegally on this access road or even in front of the terminal which both for safety and security reasons is forbidden.
During the works, the capacity of the Kiss & Fly car-park will be temporarily reduced. Lux-Airport therefore recommends visitors to park on outdoor car-parks E & F which are also close to the terminal and which also have 15 minutes free parking. Parking rates at the E & F car-parks are also cheaper than on Parking C, the Kiss & Fly. The works are expected to last approximately until the end of June.
New shops and restaurants
The implementation of the new concept of retail, food and beverage which started at the end of 2015 will be completed in the next weeks, as planned in the initial calendar. Eight of the thirteen new outlets have already opened and works are still ongoing for the remaining five. Passengers and visitors can already enjoy the Oberweis shop, the Starbucks coffee, the Moselier and Petit Moselier departure bars, two brand new Aelia duty free shops and two redesigned and refurbished Press&Books outlets.
