On Tuesday 1 March, Dachser in Grevenmacher announced its “Corporate Solutions, Research & Development” group to deal with solutions for the logistics sector on a global scale and to consolidate its research and development activities.

The head of this new corporate unit is Stefan Hohm who has previously been the manager for the Dachser logistics centre in Hof (Germany, near the Czech border) during the past seven years. He now reports directly to the CEO Bernhard Simon and will, with his team, be responsible for delivering international supply chains for clients in specific branches. This team will also be working closely with the Corporate Development & Corporate IT strategy group and the logistics service provider to undertake reaserch and development at Dachser. The new corporate unit will undertake the conception and development of added-value services which complement transport and warehousing withing the Dachser group.

This includes dedicated services for idividual clients, value-added services specific to the branches as well as top service range as part of delivery to end customers.
Dachser has already established two sector solutions in Europe: Dachser DIY-Logistics and Dachser Chem Logistics which have recorded, between them, some six million items per year. The two departments remain under the direction of Ralf Meistes (DIY-Logistics) and Michael Kriegel (Chem-Logistics), but are linked to the Dachser organisational unit Corporate Solutions, Research & Development, which includes global expertise of large industry.
