Jonathan Clark has been appointed new Regional Director Africa of Cargolux, the Luxembourg-based airline reported Tuesday.
The Regional Director role will represent Jonathan Clark's first position within the company. He will join on 1 February 2016 and will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mr. Clark's career in air cargo began in 1989 at Glasgow-based MSAS Cargo, before joining Lufthansa Cargo where he worked for over 19 years, taking up a number of positions including Sales Manager Scotland, Sales Manager UK and Ireland and Regional Director Logisitics Southern and Western Africa. In 2010, he became Regional Director for Qatar Airways Cargo.
After spending the majority of his career in the airline industry, Mr. Clark returned to the forwarding industry, joining DB Schenker in the position of Director Airfreight Sub Saharan Africa.
"Having spent three years at DB Schenker, this exciting opportunity at Cargolux presented itself and I am very much looking forward to the challenge ahead," Jonathan Clark commented.
Cargolux, which covers 90 destinations worlwide, stated that it expects Mr. Clark's industry experience and knowledge of the African market to give a boost to the company's regional business and its commitment to being the Clobal Cargo Carrier of Choice.
