The City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg – VdL) has announced that an art workshop will take place on Saturday 6 July 2024 from 11:00 to 17:00, on the site of the former slaughterhouse in Luxembourg-Hollerich.

The workshops are available for anyone aged sixteen and over. Artists Florence Hoffmann, Pascale Behrens and Séverine Peiffer will offer workshops on engraving, collage, printing and various photographic techniques such as cyanotype, pinhole or lumen print. Budding artists will be able to learn how to create serial images without the need for a camera or special presses, using techniques that they can reproduce at home. In addition, participants will be encouraged to create self-portraits and unique images by combining different techniques.

The event is part of a large pre-work promotion and revitalisation programme for the “Schluechthaus” intending to implement, during a test phase, the ideas and wishes collected as part of citizen participation concerning the future use of the site. Before the start of the work, numerous one-off events - cultural, sporting and intergenerational activities - will be offered on the “Schluechthaus” site.

Participation is free and registration is required via schluechthaus@vdl.lu, with places subject to availability.
