Luxembourg-based international professional women's association The NETWORK held an event on “Understanding Luxembourg’s Personal Tax System” on Thursday 25 September 2025 at Foyer’s premises in Leudelange.
The evening offered attendees clarity on Luxembourg’s tax framework. Experts from Foyer - including CEO Marie-Hélène Massard and insurance agent Olivier Pettinger - guided participants through the fundamentals of the tax system, also highlighting practical deduction opportunities, with real-world examples relevant to both employees and self-employed professionals. Attendees also discovered commonly overlooked deductions, qualified expenses and strategies for effective tax optimisation.
Speaking at the event, The NETWORK President Monika Ruseva said: “Financial security is one of the strongest foundations of independence. Women who understand how taxation affects their pensions, savings and entitlements are better equipped to protect themselves against uncertainty - whether that's a job change or a family transition.”
She continued: “So when we talk about empowering women, let's remember: empowerment is not only about earning more, it's also about understanding the systems that shape what we keep, what we can build and what we can pass on. Taxes may be complex, but they are also a tool. And when women master that tool, they master a critical part of their independence.”
The evening concluded with a networking reception, offering participants the chance to exchange experiences and connect with peers.
