On Monday afteroon, Luxemourg's Mandy Minella lost her 1st round Women's Singles match to Kristen Flipkens (Belgium) 3-6, 3-6.
At the post-match press conference, Mandy said that she was missing some match play before coming into the tournament. It was difficult to play against Kirsten’s slice shots and even when she tried to return the ball higher, Kirsten was still able to return them. She felt that the score was a bit severe compared to the level of play and feels positive about it.
Her tournament is not over, however, as she will be playing in the women's doubles tournament.
