On Tuesday, Luxembourg's Mandy Minella defeated Poland's 24 year-old Magda Linette, ranked #96 (7-5, 6-4) in the first round of the Australian Open women's singles tennis competition.

The 31 year-old (ranked #105) will now meet the 14th seed, Russia's Elena Vesnina (ranked #18), in the second round.
