Following the resumption of Mandy Minella's first round Ladies Singles match at Wimbledon on Thursday morning against Anna Tatishvili (USA, 26 years old, ranked #105), the
Luxembourg player won the first set 7-5, after the resumption when the score had stood at 3-1.
In the second set played on Court 9, Mandy Minella was leading 3-0 when her opponent retired injured, and will face 18th Seed Sloane Stephens (ranked #22) in the second round.
The 30 years old Luxembourg player, ranked #126, had won through the qualifiers for the Wimbledon tennis championships which got underway on Monday. She has won STG £50,000 for her first-round win, which is more than she has won this year to date in all her other tournaments, and this includes her championship win in the Ladies Singles in Croatia at the end of May.
