The Moselle Open held a press conference on 2 June to announce the first two participants of the 14th edition of the tournament to be held from Sunday 18 to Sunday 25 September 2016 at Les Arènes Metz in France.
The ATP 250 tournament is among 60 of the most important tournaments globally and one of the four ATP 250 tournaments in France (along with Open 13, Open Sud de France, Open de Nice Côte d’azur). It is the most significant men’s tennis tournament in the Grand Region.
Each year the tournament prides itself on attracting some of the best players on the ATP tour. This year is no exception with the announcement of the participation of No. 13 ranked David Goffin, winner of the tournament in 2014 and highest ranked Belgian of the Open era, and No. 15 ranked rising star Dominic Thiem of Austria.
The two players met in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros with Dominic Thiem going on to meet Novak Djokovic today in the semi-finals.
