In the current French Open grand slam tennis tournament currently being played at Roland Garror, Luxembourg's Gilles Muller and playing partner Frederik Nielsen of Denmark lost in the Men's Doubles to Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay and Marcel Granollers of Spain, 6-2, 6-3.
The big news of the day was the second-round 5-set thriller between ATP No. 2 Andy Murray of Scotland and ATP No. 164 Wildcard Mathias Bourgue of France. Andy won the first set then had no answers to Mathias Bourgue’s play in the next two sets. Mathias mixed up shots to sent Andy scrambling to the net then back to the baseline and side to side. In the 4th set the momentum swung back to Andy to force the 5th set.
In Murray’s post match interview he expressed the frustration “So to turn it around and find a way to win after, you know, a period where I was struggling to win points at one stage, I was losing a lot of games at love. It felt like, you know - I mean, every time the ball was in the middle of the court he was hitting winners. I couldn’t see where his shots were going.”
