On Friday, Luxembourg professional tennis player Gilles Muller's run at the Queen's Club Aegeon Championships in London came to an end with a 3-set defeat to Scotland's 28 year-old Andy Murray, the top seed and ranked #3 in the world, who goes on to play V Troicki of Serbia in the semi-finals.
Murray did not have it all his own way, particularly with Muller winning the opening set 6-3. The Luxembourg national could even have won the match in the second set when all games went to serve to leave the score at 6-6; Murray won the tie-break 7-2, and then broke Muller once in the 3rd set to finish the match 3-6, 7-6, 6-4, after 1 hour 56 minutes of play.
In the previous round, 32 year-old Gilles Muller (ranked #48 in the world) overcame the tournament's 6th seed, and ranked 11 in the world, Bulgaria's 24 year-old Grigor Dimitrov, 6-4, 7-6, in 1 hour 16 minutes, following his first-round win over Russia's 32 year-old Mikhail Youzhny, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6.
These results will surely result in Gilles Muller's world rankings rise even further within the world's top 50.
