Deloitte Luxembourg yesterday announced the launch of its 'Young Women Challenge', aimed at attracting more female candidates to audit and consulting professions.

The contest is a follow-on from 2014's pilot project, the 'ICN Challenge' at the ICN Business School in Nancy, and has now been introduced under a new name to cover five additional schools in the Greater Region. Last year's contest aimed to understand how a professional services firm could appeal to talented young women to encourage a healthy gender balance and skilled management in the sector.

The winning teams emphasised th need to identify the key unique selling propositions which a modern employer would need to draw upon to engage young female candidates. Several suggestions focused on expanding the current in-house service offerings aimed at women were developed into potential initiatives.

Ideas proposed ranged from daycare facilities and hosting annual events by women in the sector to attract other female employees to information classes becoming part of school curriculum, leading Deloitte to include more schools in this year's challenge.

The Deloitte Young Women Challenge was opened at ESC Dijon on 14 September 2015, followed by HEC ULG in Belgium on 21 September, Neoma in Reims on 22 September, IESEG on 24 September, and will be concluded with Neoma in Rouen and the University of Luxembourg on 25 September and ICN Nancy on 16 November.

As in the previous year, the winning teams from the estimated 60 women participatin will be awarded internships at Deloitte Luxembourg.
