From Tuesday 2 to Sunday 7 November 2021, the European Short-Course Swimming Championships are being held in Kazan, Russia.
The trio of Julie Meynen, Max Mannes and Pit Brandenburger will represent the Luxembourg Swimming Association (FLNS) in the championships in the Aquatics Palace in Kazan.
With her return from the USA last week, Julie Meynen relocated her life and training centre back to Luxembourg for the time being. The 24-year-old wants to build on her performances in the 50 and 100m freestyle events in the International Swimming League at the European Championships in Kazan.
Since September, Max Mannes has joined a strong training group in Uster in Switzerland, and wants to convert his training achievements into competition results at the European Championships in Kazan. For both FLNS athletes, this event in Kazan is a stepping-stone to the end of the year when the Short Course World Championship are being held in Abu Dhabi (16-21 December).
After starting his physiotherapy studies at LUNEX, Pit Brandenburger also has the world championships in mind. But first the 26-year-old has to push past Max Mannes in the 200m and 400m freestyle events.
