Luxembourg's fastest swimmer Julie Meynen has been in a record-breaking mood in recent weeks and is already in impressive shape four weeks before the start of the 2019 World Aquatics Championships (21-28 July) in Gwangju, South Korea.

At the "Richard Quick Invitational Meet" in her adopted hometown of Auburn (Alabama, USA), the 21-year-old got her best time down to 25.00 seconds - a new national record - over the 50m freestyle event in the space of one week.

Julie Meynen similarly completed the 50m dolphin sprint in a new national record time of 27.66 seconds. replacing the old record of 27.85 from the year 2012. The Luxembourg swimmer went on to win the A-final in Auburn over the 100m freestyle event and improved her national record from the Pro Swim Tour in Clovis by 14 hundredths in 54.49 seconds. This leaves the 21-year-old only eleven hundredths of a second from the qualification standard (54.38) for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Julie Meynen set another personal best over the 200m freestyle event in 2:02.26 minutes.
