At the end of the US Pro Swim series in Clovis, California, Luxembourgish swimmer Julie Meynen set a new national record on Sunday over the 100m freestyle event.

In the finals, she broke the 55-second mark for the first time in the 100m freestyle and finished in third place in 54.63 seconds.

Despite the 38 degree heat in the outdoor pool in Clovis, the 21-year-old once again improved her best time set in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio by 0.46 seconds and marked her second national record in the space of 24 hours.

Indeed, Saturday saw the Luxembourgish swimmer finish the 50m freestyle event in second place in a record 25.08 seconds.
