Luxembourg swimmer Julie Meynen has won second place in the 50 metres freestyle race at the US-Pro Swim Meeting in Bloomington.

Last weekend, Julie Meynen celebrated her season debut with an impressive performance on the 50-metre track. In the Pro Swim Series in Bloomington, the Luxembourger won second place in the 50 metres freestyle race.

With a time of 25.13 seconds, the 21-year-old came second to Olympic champion Simone Manuel (24.41) in the final. With this time, she finished one hundredth of a second off her national record, set at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (25.12). Over twice the distance, Luxembourg's TOP sprinter went on to win the B-finals in 55.34 seconds.

With these times, Julie Meynen has created a good starting position for the season highlight, the World Championships from 20 to 28 July in Gwangju, South Korea.
