On Friday 3 June 2022, Luxembourg's statistical institute, Statec, published a special report on "10 years of accidents on Luxembourg roads in figures", cataloguing the number of accidents, injuries and other aspects.

According to Statec, 9,423 accidents with injuries involved on Luxemboirg roads were recorded between 2011 and 2020, with a total number of 12,787 victims involved. 324 people lost their lives over this period, equivalent to 2.5% of all victims.

Between 1991 and 2004, the number of accidents with bodily harm on Luxembourg roads fell almost continuously, dropping from 1,129 to 716 accidents. It then increased, but settled below the 1,000 mark, fluctuating between 900 and 1,000 accidents per year between 2011 and 2019. The year 2020 witnessed a particularly low number with 771 accidents under the effect of the reduction in traffic caused by the COVID-19 health crisis.
