On Saturday 22 February 2025 from 14.00, LUkraine will organise a march in Luxembourg city, starting from the Gare Centrale, under the slogan JUSTICE FOR UKRAINE – PEACE FOR EUROPE, emphasising the critical need for a just peace in Europe.
According to LUkraine's announcement, "at this moment the future of Europe is being decided in Ukraine. The new axis of evil has been formed and growing. The world is on the edge of a transformation of the world order established in the aftermath of the Second World War. The frontline of a peaceful future lies in Ukraine. However, this war should not be solely Ukraine’s struggle – it is our community’s fight for justice, democracy, and the security of our entire continent. If we allow Russia to succeed by compromising our values, it will only grow their appetites and show to their allies that the system we know has reached its end. Without any doubt, Luxembourg knows what it is like to be invaded by a neighbour who outweighs you in multiple ways. However, Luxembourg has always stood for its identity, freedoms and values. Now is the time to reaffirm our commitment. By marching together, we send a clear message: we will not allow aggression to triumph over justice. We will not accept a future where imperialistic brutal force makes right".
“Europe owes justice to Ukraine,” said the President of LUkraine, Nicolas Zharov. “Without Ukraine’s past sacrifices, Europe would not have won peace. And without Ukraine’s resistance today, Europe’s peace cannot last.”
The speakers at the event will include Nicolas Zharov, President of LUkraine, Anne Calteux, Head of Representation of the European Commission to Luxembourg, Rafał Hykawy, chargé d’affaires ad interim at the Embassy of Republic of Poland, and Fleur Thomas, Ambassador of United Kingdom to Luxembourg.
