The Automobile Club of Luxembourg (ACL) has announced that the final of the FIA Esports European Hill Climb Cup supported by Luxembourg – Let’s Make It Happen will take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026 at GridX in Wickrange.

Organised by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in collaboration with ACL Sport, and with the support of Luxembourg's Ministry of Sport and Ministry of the Economy, the first official hill climb sim racing competition will bring together the eight fastest drivers from the qualifying stage.

According to the ACL, Luxembourg has not hosted an FIA competition for more than ten years. In 2014, the municipality of Eschdorf hosted the inaugural FIA Hill Climb Masters, bringing together hill climb racing enthusiasts. The FIA has now chosen Luxembourg to host the final of the first edition of the FIA Esports European Hill Climb Cup.

The competition was open free of charge to participants from around the world. For more than three weeks, participants had the opportunity to set the fastest time on a fictional hill climb course created specifically for the event and made available on the RaceRoom simulation platform. The car available to participants was the BMW 134 Judd V8, previously driven by German champion Georg Plasa.

“Motorsport is also increasingly taking place in the digital world. This competition creates a bridge between tradition, technology and new generations of enthusiasts. We are pleased that Luxembourg can host this new format and thus contribute to the evolution of motorsport,” said Miriam Eisenmenger, CEO of the ACL.

On Saturday and Sunday, the eight finalists will compete on a course whose identity will only be revealed on Saturday morning. The drivers will be able to discover and test the track only on the day of the competition.

The public can attend the final at GridX in Wickrange free of charge. A broadcast of the event will also be made available online in the following days.
