On Friday 1 December 2023, the College of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg awarded diplomas to athletes and sports teams who have distinguished themselves during the 2022/23 season, as well as managing members active for more than 20 years in a sports club in Luxembourg City.

During the 38th edition of the "Sportleréierung", 41 individual athletes and thirteen teams (i.e. 295 people in total) received a diploma for their performance during the 2022/23 season.

The recipients came from 23 clubs practising 23 different sporting disciplines, including athletics, beach volleyball, billiards, curling, cycling, gymnastics, weightlifting, ice hockey, figure skating, aquatic sports, judo, taekwondo, tennis and archery, among others. In total, the territory of the City of Luxembourg has more than 189 sports clubs offering more than 41 sporting disciplines.

In addition, seventeen managing members of nine different clubs were honoured in their role as managers and administrators of the different sports associations of the City of Luxembourg for more than 20 years.

The official ceremony featured music by the Luxembourg Jazz Combo.
