On Friday 13 November 2015, the College of the Mayor and Alderman of Luxembourg City honoured the athletes and sports teams of the Grand Duchy who set themselves apart from others during the 2014/2015 season, as well as leading members who have been actives in City sports clubs for over twenty years.
Friday represented the 32nd edition of this traditional ceremony, and saw 70 sporting individuals and 43 teams receive a commendation for their performances as a national champion or winner of a national cup in 'juniors' and 'seniors' categories during the 2014/2015 season. A wide range of 25 different sports, comprising 27 clubs, were represented amongst the winners.
16 leading members of 9 different clubs were also celebrated for their work as managers and administrators of the various sports clubs. Luxembourg City holds a total of more than 150 clubs offering more than 40 different sports.
